Your answer :
4(32) = 9.
This is the first time you have seen a power of a number multiplied by some other number. But there is no reason to be alarmed. Just do the arithmetic inside the parentheses first, then multiply by the multiplier:
4(32) = 4(3 × 3) = 4(9) = ?
After all, a number written as a power is still a number.
Now return to Page 147 and select the right answer.
