2(10 − 1) + 5(10 − 2) = (2)/(10) + (5)/(100).
It is true that
2(10 − 1) + 5(10 − 2) = (2)/(10) + (5)/(100).
But if we use the system of decimal fractions that you learned in school, there’s a tidier way of writing
(2)/(10) + (5)/(100).
