(b²)/(b³) = b¹.

Come, come now. The rule is

(b^m)/(bⁿ) = b^{(m − n)}.

Now in the case of (b²)/(b³), we hav m = 2 and n = 3, so we are going to get

(b²)/(b³) = b^{(2 − 3)}.

So, 2 − 3 isn’t 1, is it? It’s -1.
