The 2nd power of 5 = 5 × 2 = 10.
You have simply used 5 and 2 as factors. Factors and powers are two separate ideas. Please read the discussion of powers again. You will find that the “2nd power of five” is just another way of saying “52” or “5 used as a factor twice.”
