It is true that the expression you have chosen could be written as a decimal number. However, this expression is not the expanded form of a decimal number because the powers of ten are not arranged in descending order from left to right. If we write the coefficients of the expression in the order that they appear, we get 3,426. But if you find the sum of the above expressions you’ll find it is not 3,426; it is 60,423.
