I don’t know how to begin on this problem.
When you have a number written in a system other than the decimal system, all you need to do to find the decimal equivalent is to write the number in expanded form, then do the arithmetic indicated. The digits in the number are the coefficients of each power of the base used. The right-hand digit in a whole number is the coefficient of 80 (when dealing with an octal number), the next digit to the left is the coefficient of 81, and so on. So the proper expansion of 368 is
 ←  368  =  3 (81) +  6 (80)  = ?
