Your answer :
( − 7) − ( + 3) = ( + 4).
You must have changed the sign of both numbers. You change only the sign of the number being subtracted, which, in this case, is the ( + 3). So you proceed as follows:
sign changed ( − 7) − ( + 3) = ( − 7)  +  ( − 3) add instead of subtract
and now you have the problem of adding two numbers of like sign, which you know how to handle from the addition rules.
